Donald is an early riser. It’s not hard to imagine why. Some of his best photographs are captured at dawn just as a new day begins. It’s the time of day when peace reigns and beauty abounds.
It is not always about being up early but also about being wide awake enough to get the camera settings just right and quickly too. That’s because vermillion skies can be fleeting indeed. The time frame he had to get the above picture was just a mere 40 seconds before the light changed!
There is much to appreciate at that early hour such as the stillness and the lovely patterns of clouds against the crimson backdrop.
All too soon, the show is over and bright sunlight permeates everywhere.
